FAQs

  • 1. What makes your Angus beef different from store-bought beef?

Our Angus beef is raised on our family pasture in a stress-free environment. Our cattle are pasture-raised, grain-fed, and never given added hormones or antibiotics, resulting in premium-quality beef with exceptional flavor and marbling.

  • 2. How can I purchase beef from your farm?

We sell directly from our pasture. Customers can place an order by contacting us, and we offer options such as whole, half, or quarter beef shares. Availability may vary, so we recommend reaching out early to secure your order.

  • 3. What do your cattle eat?

Our cattle graze freely on lush pastures and are later finished with a carefully balanced grain mix consisting of 75% corn, 5% oats, and 20% protein pellets. This combination ensures their health and creates tender, flavorful beef.

  • 4. Do you offer custom processing options?

Yes, we work with local processors to provide custom cutting instructions based on your preferences. You can choose how your beef is portioned, packaged, and prepared to best suit your family’s needs.

  • 5. Why do you base the pricing on the hanging weight?

Why do we base the pricing on the hanging weight?

The hanging weight is the weight of the animal after it has been dispatched, skinned, and all the internal organs, feet, and head have been removed.

This is usually around 60% of the live weight. An average live weight is around 1,200-1,300 lbs. with a hanging weight around 700-750lbs.

The finish amount of beef that you would receive for your freezer is around 60% of that depending on how you have it cut as well as if you want the heart, tongue, and liver.

In other words if you were to buy a whole beef you would likely get around 420-500 lbs.

    • 1/4: 100-125 lbs
    • 1/2: 200- 250 lbs

If you want the heart, tongue, or liver all you have to do is ask. You will need to pay for the processing cost of it as this is figured into your hanging weight wether you want it or not.

We personally enjoy the tongue if it is prepared well. It makes great meat for sandwiches.
